Rodger Stevens

Rodger Stevens (born 1966 in Brooklyn, New York) is a contemporary American artist.
Stevens graduated from the Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn and went on to study economics at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York, and at Pace University in Manhattan. Stevens then attended Parsons The New School for Design and the School of Visual Arts. From 1994 through 1999, he worked at Sotheby's.
In the early nineties he began exhibiting his drawings and sculptures at small galleries throughout New York and eventually in more renowned venues such as the Tiffany & Co. windows, the MTV headquarters, the Todd Oldham boutique〔Goodman, Wendy (April, 1996), "Wired for Art", ''Harper's Bazaar'': p23〕 and the Yohji Yamamoto showroom in SoHo. In recent years he has done commissioned work for the Whitney Museum of American Art, the American Folk Art Museum, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Barneys, Stuart Weitzman, the Rockwell Group, Jonathan Adler, Starbucks, and the W Hotel. In 2011, he was selected by the Persol eyewear company to be a member of their "Work of Persol" artist series. Stevens continues to show his work in New York,〔Knox, Laura (April, 2006), "Wired Up", ''Elements of Living Magazine'': p41-47〕 California, and elsewhere.〔Gomez, Edward (October, 2007), "Critic's Notebook", ''Art & Antiques'': p36-39〕 His work has been featured in numerous publications and featured in dozens of blogs.〔Deau, Florence (September, 2012), "Flodeau"〕 He collaborated with designer Mark McKenna on an illuminated mobile called Orchadia; developed a line of lamps for Green Depot; and created several large-scale mobiles for the Starbucks company. His work is currently represented by the Timothy Yarger Fine Art Gallery in Los Angeles and BDDW, The Future Perfect, Mayson gallery and the Abingdon 12 gallery in New York.

Stevens' work has been exhibited both domestically and internationally. His work has been exhibited in New York at: Whitney Museum of American Art; the American Folk Art Museum; the Katonah Museum of Art; Sotheby's; Tiffany & Co.; the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; Denise Bibro Fine Art; the Jonathan Levine Gallery; the Aidan Savoy Gallery; the Cinders Gallery; the Front Room Gallery; the Rockland Center for the Arts, and Abingdon 12.
He has also been exhibited at the Bristol Art Museum in Rhode Island and the Hangaram Design Museum in Seoul, Korea.
